Environmental Health & Safety ManagerFull Time, Mount Pleasant, TX, US
Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the site's Environmental, Health, and Safety program.
- Maintain safety, accident and environmental compliance records.
- Implement and monitor environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and reporting for the US.
- Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs to employees.
- Practice safe working techniques and reinforce safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Identify risks of losses; evaluate risk; develop and implement corrective plans.
- Supervise or advise on specifications for safety and safety‑related equipment purchase.
- Ensure contractor personnel comply with company policies and safety requirements.
- Maintain and update SOPs for safe work practices and equipment; utilize them in training.
- Provide advice, assistance, and audit line management to ensure effective EHS implementation.
- Conduct employee orientations, emergency response training, and coordinate training programs.
- Coordinate inspections by regulatory agencies and minimize deficiencies.
- Maintain logs and documentation for permits and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.
- Research and write permit applications; collaborate with regulatory agencies.
- Review accidents and incidents, conduct field audits, report and manage corrective actions.
- Serve as liaison with environmental and safety officials of governmental agencies.
- Ensure projects completed on time and within budget.
- Support and lead incident investigations to address root cause.
- 5+ years of safety management experience within a production environment.
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state and local safety and environmental laws.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety preferred.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Risk Management systems.
- Proven experience in development and delivery of training.
- Self‑starter, hands‑on individual who enjoys challenge, can provide creative solutions to unique problems, and can manage and develop the HSRM functions.
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent follow‑up and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate ethical behavior, and sound judgment.
- Must be able to work with all levels of the organization and handle multiple tasks.
