Description/Notes:

- Provide professional development on research‑based instructional strategies and assistance in the selection and use of instructional resources, including but not limited to TEKS Resource System, Texas OER (Bluebonnet), and Texas Curriculum Resources (TCR)
- Design and deliver workshops on developing new or adapting Reading Language Arts strategies or existing curriculum documents, such as RLA instructional units
- Facilitate training on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for RLA including related technology application TEKS in preparation to support state mandated assessments
- Analyze data and provide appropriate interventions, strategies, and enrichment as determined from STAAR and local assessment data for RLA
- Support the integration of technology into the RLA curriculum through targeted professional development
- Participate in identified professional development to advance skills necessary to fulfill performance responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Region 8 ESC content consultants to maintain instructional consistency
- Establish and maintain partnerships with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and other relevant professional organizations
- Coordinate and implement effective training, staff development, and technical support aligned with program and project objectives
- Manage the collection of data and draft reports to meet ESC requirements for continuous improvement
- Travel within and outside the region (using a personal vehicle) as required to support program initiatives and district needs
- Additional projects as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director
- Up to 226 working days
- This is an at‑will employment position
- In the event of an economic slump, a reduction‑in‑force may be necessary. Employees will be notified in writing
- Locally funded
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years experience, Master’s Degree preferred
- Valid Texas Teacher’s Certificate
- Valid Principal Certificate preferred
- Knowledge of effective research
- Ability to plan, implement, deliver, and sustain professional development for teachers and instructional leaders
- Advanced knowledge of curriculum practices, instruction, assessment and intervention
- Recommended by the ESC Executive Director
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and acceptable
