ESC Region 8 - Postsecondary Readiness Consultant Center Responsibilities

  • Processes all personal timekeeping, travel reporting and other paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintains professional attire and grooming appropriate for specific job position

Department Responsibilities
  • Ability to handle and see to completion multiple projects simultaneously and on deadline

  • Attends all called meetings including departmental staff meetings, work team meetings, and general staff meetings

Position Responsibilities
  • Oversee and lead the Northeast Texas Career Alliance (NTCA) to include fulfilling all responsibilities as outlined in the NTCA Partnership Memorandum of Understanding
  • Lead opportunities to grow NTCA partnerships and pathways
  • Build industry partnerships and connect LEAs with opportunities for work‑based learning
  • Provide advising supports on topics such as FAFSA, College Preparatory Exams, Graduation Planning, Career Exploration, and Secondary Master Scheduling.
  • Facilitate and support completion of grant responsibilities (i.e. Texas Rural Pathways Network Grant and Effective Advising Grant)
  • Provide supports and training around the CCMR indicators for state accountability
  • Collaborate cross‑departmentally to provide professional development for related staff on topics such as advising, CTE programs of study, accountability, and graduation
  • Facilitate and attend ISD CTE advisory committees when requested
  • Coordinate with other relevant agencies
  • Assist in facilitating the CTE Perkins SSA
  • Contract with districts, as necessary, to provide services
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and other relevant professional organizations
  • Travel (meaning to drive one’s own vehicle) to and from LEA's to fulfill program and project specifications are required. Out of region travel may also be required.
Special Assignments

Additional projects as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

Terms of Employment

Up to 226 working days. This is an at‑will employment position. In the event of an economic slump, a reduction‑in‑force may be necessary. Employees will be notified in writing.

Funding Source

Locally funded. Grant funded. Grant funded positions may not exist past the end date.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor and Master’s degree in Education
  • Valid Texas Teacher’s Certificate
  • Five years of relevant experience in management/administration of CCMP programs and CCMR tracking
  • Knowledge of effective research: change process, systems thinking, organizational culture, and adult learners
  • Ability to plan, implement, deliver, and sustain professional development for related school staff
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience coordinating work‑based learning experiences
  • Advanced knowledge of graduation requirements and CTE pathways for students
  • Proven ability to secure, administer, and oversee grant‑funded programs
  • Knowledge of federal and state accountability programs
  • Recommended by the ESC Executive Director
