About The Role
The Senior Lending Assistant will report directly to the Market President and provide support, coaching, and leadership to operational lending assistants while maintaining a range of secretarial and clerical duties. During the Market President’s absence, the Senior Lending Assistant will maintain other duties relating to the loan function of the Bank and/or department in regards to keeping the business going. The job functions are:
Job Duties- Represent the Bank in a courteous and professional manner
- Provide support and coaching to other operational lending assistants and employees within the department and/or location
- Directly service the department and/or location exercising independent judgement and discretion when making decisions for the betterment of the department and/or location and/or customer during the Market President’s absence
- Take loan applications, obtain credit reports and process credit denials according to regulations
- Type memos, letters, and reports
- Greet customers and assist them with routine problems
- Accept loan payments and deposits
- Handle incoming telephone calls and mail
- Obtain the necessary documents and legal papers for loans
- Call and write letters to past‑due customers
- Produce loan documents and renewal loans in an accurate and timely manner
- Responsible for servicing loans, i.e., payments, payoff quotes, and forwards to lenders and/or clients
- Maintain knowledge of banking products and services in order to cross‑sell to customers
- Image documents into electronic filing system
- Work exception reports
- Identify and correct location and/or department procedural inefficiencies
- Set up meetings, conferences, and conference calls
- Coordinate calendar / travel arrangements
- Proactively monitor schedules to identify and resolve conflicts and inefficiencies
- Maintain and approve timesheets, and/or leave requests for the department and/or location
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures
- Complete and pass all required regulatory compliance training as assigned
- Perform any additional duties and tasks assigned by management

- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- High School diploma or equivalent; associates degree or higher preferred
- Minimum 2 years customer service experience
- Minimum 3 years loan administrative experience in commercial, real estate and consumer loans
- Minimum 2 years management experience; preferred not required

Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
