Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift) Location

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

The competent Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) setting practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, working towards long-range goals or plans while continuing to develop skills to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.

• Delivers nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments according to protocols; monitors side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, while identifying issues and resources.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only).
• TNCC certification is also preferred.
• Current RN License in state of Texas or compact state.
