DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a high-acuity 16-bed Emergency Department requiring TNCC certification and an active TX or compact RN license.
Details- 16-bed Emergency Department with 1 trauma bay and 4 fast-track beds
- High volume of stroke and STEMI patients supported by a 24/7 cath lab
- Frequent motor vehicle collision traumas along with a high psychiatric and geriatric patient population
- Pediatric patients are also treated in this department
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Full-time, 13-week assignment
- Potential for temp-to-perm conversion if department openings are available at contract end
- Active RN license in Texas or compact license required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
- TNCC certification required
- 1 year of experience in emergency nursing preferred
- BSN preferred
- Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education
- Delegate and coordinate care assignments with other providers as needed
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Returning employees who previously worked at any CHRISTUS facility (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period across the entire CHRISTUS Health System before being eligible for a travel assignment
