Job Description

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.
About the RoleYou will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. The role works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment, and will support environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidance.
HowYou Will Contribute
- Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, AIDS education and self‑exclusion, conduct medical history interviews, perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, follow SOPs for medical emergencies including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current licensure or certification in the state of assignment: EMT‑Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly wage: $24.00 – $33.00
The actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, unique skills, education, certifications, and location, and will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements.
