Overview
Full‑time Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in the Anesthesiology department, 30 hours per week (Mon‑Fri, 10‑hour days). Primary sites: 50% AMCMP, 50% Racine Surgery Center; occasional service at West Allis. Benefits:

- Assemble supplies and equipment; administer intravenous, spinal, and other anesthetics.
- Monitor patient reactions and vital signs during and after anesthesia; take remedial action when warranted.
- Submit postoperative reports and maintain records of anesthetics administered.
- Provide anesthesia services (general, regional, monitored care) including induction, maintenance, intubation, recording events, and corrective actions.
- Perform pre‑anesthesia functions: verify examinations, tests, and assessments; review patient condition prior to induction; verify equipment readiness and sterility.
- Execute post‑anesthesia duties: remain with patient until safe to transfer, advise staff on complications, administer post‑operative analgesia, conduct post‑anesthetic visits.
- Manage narcotic accounting and distribution.
- Respond to emergencies (Code Blue/Code 4, respiratory, airway management) with physician direction.
- Assist nursing units with difficult IV insertions when requested.
- Administer anesthesia under surgeon supervision and provide labor analgesia in the Birth Day Center.
- Participate in departmental improvement and ASC processes as appropriate.
- Perform patient positioning and transport duties requiring lifting and pushing/pulling with proper technique.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber license (state of Wisconsin).
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Master’s degree in Nursing.
- No prior experience required; functional experience as a RN preferred.
- Ability to fulfill department schedule needs, including possible 24/7 call and weekend coverage as needed.
Hours:
30 per week, Mon‑Fri, 10‑hour days. No call, no holidays, no weekends. Pay range: $99.75–$159.60 per hour.
