Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda, will support plasma center operations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage adverse events; follow SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate with Center Physician for standing orders and transport to emergency care.
- Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and guidance concerning medical or technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health; refer to EHS guidance for incident handling.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or an equivalent graduate credential from a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license or certification in EMT‑Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
U.S. hourly wage range: $25.60 – $35.20.
Hourly wage reflects qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The actual wage offered will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
