Quality Technician Lead (2nd Shift)

FII USA, Inc., a Foxconn Technology Group Company, is seeking a Quality Technician Lead to oversee daily quality inspection activities and support subassembly and final assembly operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Once a part of the team, you will provide leadership to Quality Technicians, ensure adherence to quality standards, and have the opportunity to display critical thinking and leadership skills to expand your career in Smart Manufacturing.
The Quality Technician Lead will coordinate daily inspection activities, provide technical guidance to Quality Technicians, verify product quality standards, and assist the Quality Department as needed.
Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of Quality Technicians to ensure inspection priorities and production schedules are met
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Quality Technicians on inspection methods, quality standards, and best practices
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback to support employee development and continuous improvement
- Accurately identify and verify electronic components used in SMT and through-hole assemblies
- Support subassembly and final assembly processes through in-process inspections and quality checks
- Perform final visual and functional inspections using magnification tools, AOI, and test equipment
- Evaluate and verify that repaired or reworked units meet all quality and customer specification standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, BOMs, work instructions, and component datasheets
- Inspect refurbished units to ensure they meet functional and cosmetic quality standards prior to shipment
- Conduct production line audits to ensure compliance with quality procedures, IPC standards, and manufacturing requirements
Report recurring defects, quality trends, and unusual failures to Quality Engineers to support root cause analysis and corrective actions - Assist Quality Engineers with data collection, measurement analysis, product validation, and process improvement initiatives
- Utilize inspection equipment including microscopes, multimeters, calipers, oscilloscopes, and other quality measurement tools
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Participate in root cause investigations and support implementation and verification of corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with company quality systems, safety procedures, and manufacturing standards
- Other Duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate's Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field preferred - 3+ years of experience as a Quality Technician, Inspector, or related quality role within a manufacturing environment
- Previous leadership, lead, or mentoring experience preferred
- Experience with server troubleshooting, repair, and electronic assemblies preferred
- Knowledge of SMT, through-hole, PCBA manufacturing, and electronic component identification
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 preferred)
- Experience using inspection equipment such as microscopes, AOI systems, multimeters, calipers, and oscilloscopes
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems preferred
- Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods in a production environment
