How You'll ContributeThe Senior Installation Superintendent - Electronic Security is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position supports the sales strategy of providing a point of contact for multiple disciplines during the life cycle of the project. It is the key field position for the bulk of the actual work that gets done in our clients' buildings.
The Superintendent needs to coordinate with project management, field superintendents and others to fully understand their role on specific projects. They interpret our drawing packages to create the basis of the finished systems. The installation can include rack and enclosure build outs, panel terminations, device installation, testing and troubleshooting. The Superintendent will be responsible for our most complex system designs, will mentor other technicians and set the example in all aspects of the job.
WhatYou'll Do
- Provide one point of onsite contact to the client
- Track hours for subcontractors and internal crew
- Run multiple installation superintendents on large projects
- Handle long‑duration, large, complex projects or multiple subsystems (ESS)
- Review the BOM at the start of each job and know the required material
- Communicate required or not‑required items to the Project Manager and Design Engineering team
- Keep the job within the given scope and timeframe
- When a job cannot be managed, communicate this to the Regional Supervisor/Project Manager/Program Manager to explain delays
- Take ownership of job schedules and hold technicians/lead technicians accountable for on‑time work
- Follow DIV
28 specifications for quality control while maintaining the schedule - Maintain weekly communication with Regional Supervisor and keep written records on One Note, including:
- Expected weekly milestones
- Work accomplished with technicians/trades (sub‑contractors, GC, EC)
- Project issues
- Problems that may arise
- Site Readiness Document
- Site Inventory (updated at least monthly)
- Redlines/RFIs
- Communicate need for assistance or guidance for any work; this may involve labor or technical issues
- Identify problems in drawings/matrix and inform the Project Manager/Design Engineer ASAP
- Prioritize time properly and manage multiple sites simultaneously
- Maintain constant communication with staff/sub‑contractors on any job site
- Delegate work to technicians/lead technicians/sub‑contractors across locations
- Maintain online inventory records that are easily accessible (using One Note)
- Notify Regional Supervisor/Project Manager if equipment is missing/defective; replacement may be delayed due to lead times
- Operate in a positive team environment to share knowledge and develop skill sets
- Single point of contact for project manager for all field staff (technicians, union technicians, leads, supers, FE's, etc.)
- Full responsibility for tasks on clients' job sites with no supervision; coordinate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors
- Key and only senior field supervisor in many situations; responsible for delegating work, monitoring others, and communicating with key stakeholders on behalf of the PM
- Requires highest level of technical and people skills
