The Product Safety Engineer ensures the safety of new power tools to protect end‑users.

Responsibilities include:

• Analyze new product designs and prototypes for hazards, assess risk, and develop hazard mitigation requirements for complex power tools.
• Document safety requirements in Product Safety Review and maintain throughout product development.
• Communicate safety requirements to project teams via meetings, calls, and emails.
• Review and confirm test reports to verify compliance with safety qualification requirements.
• Provide safety input and approve warnings for user instruction manuals and product label content per ANSI Z535.
• Review product photography, videography, and marketing artwork for accurate representation of safe use and compliance.

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in North American agency approvals (UL, CSA), regulatory compliance (CFR, OSHA), new product development for consumer products, or quality engineering for new product development; experience with power tools preferred.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical safety concepts into actionable items for project teams.
• Strong understanding of North American product safety requirements for design and compliance.
• Awareness of how North Americans use power tools on job sites, homes, and yards.
• Patient, detail‑oriented with proofreading skills for instructions.
• Familiarity with hazard identification and mitigation documentation methods.
