Golf Course Maintenance Greensperson 3 (Summer 2026, part-time)

This part‑time, seasonal position runs from May through August and includes daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday hours. The starting pay is $15.50 per hour and the district offers facility discounts and usage benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- mowing
- trimming
- changing putting green cups
- tee service
- raking bunkers
- pruning trees and bushes
- topdressing
- operating landscaping equipment
- other landscaping tasks
Participate in the Park District’s Safety Training programs and abide by Park District policies and procedures. Be available to work during the week and on the weekend.
Secondary DutiesMaintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform additional duties as assigned, which may be considered essential. Perform all other duties as required by the Golf Course Maintenance Crew Leader, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, Golf Course Superintendent, Director of Golf Operations, or Executive Director, or in emergencies.
Qualifications- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others for coordination of work, safety and emergency situations.
- Must be able to follow required department safety procedures, participate in the Park District safety training program and adhere to Park District safety procedures.
- Must be dependable, able to work with limited supervision, and maintain regular, reliable attendance. Must be able to work during the week and on the weekend.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, frequently ascend/descend more than a 25% grade, lift 50+ pounds from a squat position, push/pull, reach, occasionally balance, bend at waist (touch the floor with fingertips), climb, crawl, crouch, kneel for long periods of time, and sit, stoop and handle objects constantly. The work is performed indoors and outdoors and may expose you to hazardous situations, cuts, bruises, or minor burns, to high noise levels, and to outdoor conditions such as water, sun, high humidity, heat, and cold.
Due to the needs of the Park District, daytime, evening, weekend and holiday hours will be required. Your work schedule may vary and may exceed 40 hours per week at times, but will be strictly less than 1,000 hours per year.
Salary Description $15.50 per hour.
