Cashier, Retail

Retail Cashiers work at the checkout areas of retail stores and are responsible for handling transactions fast and accurately. The Cashier will scan the customer’s selections, ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information to customers' products, promotions, item location, and maintain a clean workspace. To succeed as a Cashier, a person should have a strong work ethic and high level of accuracy, be responsible, attentive to customer needs, and committed to providing excellent service.

Regular Full-Time or Part-Time

• Register Transactions:
  Scan customer selections fast and accurately, ensure correct pricing, accept cash/credit/debit/EBT/checks, and issue change.
• Anti-Skimming Security:
  Inspect POS terminal card readers and PIN pads daily for skimming devices.
• Smart Safe Drops:
  Perform cash drawer balancing, Smart Safe deposits, and loan/declare entries.

  Experience:
  
  Greet shoppers, ask for KD Club membership, apply 100% Freshness Guarantee refunds, and bag groceries.

• Illinois BASSET Certification required.
• High level of accuracy, basic math skills, and dependable attendance.
• Ability to stand throughout the shift and lift heavy grocery items.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor and excellent customer service orientation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35–50 lbs.
