School Security Officer at Cardinal Point Homeland Security Group

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

• Coverage needed 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Up to 30 hours per week
• Includes regular school hours plus after‑school and occasional weekend events when required.
• Position follows the school calendar, with 2 months off during the summer.

• Act as a Cardinal Point ambassador: be on time, look sharp in proper uniform, be engaged, consistent
• Coach and mentor students
• Incident management and verbal de‑escalation
• Maintain orderly flow of foot traffic in hallways
• Monitor restrooms throughout the day
• Report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
• Walk up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism
• Stand for up to four hours per day
• Act as first responder for emergencies
• Stand post at secondary locations as required
• Identify and report suspicious activity
• Complete daily activity reports and incident reports as required
• Cultivate positive relationships with staff and students
• Access control
• Monitor CCTV

• Minimum of 6 years of post‑secondary education work experience
• Minimum 3 years of security experience in a school environment, or experience as a sworn police officer, military, or corrections officer
• Ability to work well under pressure
• High school diploma or GED
• Obtain required clearances for working in school
• Complete all required training to work in schools
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude
• Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access)
• Ability to comprehend and utilize the English language (verbal and written)
• Reliable means of transportation
• Must possess a focused, professional, and courteous demeanor

• Experience as a sworn municipal, state, or federal police officer; or military MP, military MA, Air Force Security Forces
• Valid driver’s license
