Armed School Security Officer (ASSO) – Cardinal Point Homeland Security Group

Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence.

$32.00 per hour

Lansdale, PA

8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. 10‑month position with 2 months off during the summer. Schedule includes regular school hours and occasional after‑school and weekend events.

• Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: punctual, dressed in proper uniform, engaged and consistent
• Coach and mentor students
• Incident management and de‑escalation
• Maintain orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallways
• Monitor restrooms throughout the day
• Report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
• Walk up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access, theft, or vandalism
• Stand for up to four hours per day
• Act as first responder for emergencies
• Stand post at secondary locations as required
• Identify and report suspicious activity
• Build positive relationships with staff and students
• Access control
• Monitor CCTV

• Prior law enforcement experience is required
• Five years as an armed security officer
• Three years as a security officer in a school setting
• Valid PA Act 235 Certification
• Valid PA Concealed Carry Permit
• Personal firearm
• Pass firearms qualification course
• Ability to work well under pressure
• High School Diploma or GED
• Consent to drug screen and criminal background investigation
• Consent to obtain required clearances for working in school
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude
• Reliable cell phone with mobile email access
• Ability to comprehend and use English (verbal and written)
• Reliable transportation
• Professional and courteous demeanor
