Job SummaryWe are a leading fireplace and outdoor living retailer/installer serving the Northwest Chicagoland area for over 50 years. We pride ourselves on excellent craftsmanship, reliable service, and a professional, friendly customer experience. We work with gas, wood, electric, and outdoor fire features for both residential and light commercial projects. We are seeking a Fireplace Installer/Technician to join our team. This role includes installing new fireplaces, troubleshooting and repairing existing units, performing annual maintenance, and educating customers on safe usage.
Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with homeowners and contractors.

- Read and understand complex manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Precisely measure components to ensure fit.
- Install gas, wood, and electric fireplaces, stoves, inserts, and venting systems according to manufacturer specifications and building codes.
- Perform service, inspection, and repair work on a variety of hearth and outdoor living products.
- Complete gas line connection, leak testing, and proper venting/flue setup.
- Conduct in-home customer education on operation and maintenance.
- Maintain clean, organized work environment and company vehicle.
- Communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, and builders.
- Complete job documentation including service notes and warranty information.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certification or diploma from a technical school is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in fireplace installation, HVAC, plumbing, construction, or related field preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in attics, roofs, and crawl spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with basic construction equipment/tools.
