OverviewLocated in Mt Prospect, IL this position is perfect for experienced diesel technicians passionate about vehicle maintenance and safety. You'll work with a diverse fleet of diesel buses, gas buses, and even a few minivans, supporting the transportation needs of local students and families. Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive maintenance services such as fluid and filter changes, greasing, and inspections.
- Conduct basic repairs and troubleshooting to ensure buses operate safely and efficiently.
- Assist senior mechanics with more complex repairs, gaining valuable skills and experience.
- Use your toolbox and hand tools to complete work accurately, following safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain consistent attendance and work safely, using all required PPE.
- Valid driver's license
- At least 3 years of mechanic experience or recent graduation from a trade school
- Basic hand tools and toolbox
- Ability to perform standard maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Experience working on heavy equipment or diesel vehicles
- Ability to assist higher-level mechanics and perform repairs under supervision
- Excellent attendance and safety record
- Pay rate: $28 - $32 per hour
- Shift: 9 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday
