Adult Basketball Scorekeeper (Part-Time)

Location:

Mt. Prospect Park District – Athletic Facilities.

Start:
May – August.

Hours:

Weeknights and weekend mornings/afternoons.

Pay: $15.00 per hour plus benefits for facility usage.

Supervise and record scores for adult basketball games, set up equipment, ensure play safety, maintain scorebook, clean up, and act as liaison between patrons and management.

• Arrive 15 minutes early; wear district‑issued staff apparel.
• Set up scorer’s table, chairs, scorebook, scoreboard; arrange spectator and player areas.
• Inspect playing area; ensure it is safe for play.
• Complete score sheets; leave in binder for Athletic Manager.
• After games, put away scoreboard, clean bleachers, spectator seating, gym, and scorer’s table.
• Work at multiple sites; coordinate setup with Athletic Staff.
• Act as liaison between patrons and management.
• Attend required staff meetings.
• Follow all district rules and policies.

• Additional tasks as assigned; perform other duties as needed, especially in emergencies.

• Age 18 or older; must pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to operate scoreboard and keep score in scorebook.
• Complete required timesheets and result cards; submit promptly.
• Effective communication skills for coordination and safety.
• Good judgment; recognize unsafe conditions and respond appropriately.
• Physical ability to stand or sit for long periods, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds from a squat position.
• Reliable, independent worker with regular and reliable attendance.
• Adhere to park district guidelines and policies.
• Professional conduct and positive attitude toward district staff and programs.

Evening and weekend hours may be required; schedule may vary.
