Compensation & Benefits

Wage: $35.02–$35.02 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire supervisors and employees daily, including overseeing employee housing.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and direct supervisors and associates to ensure efficient and safe completion of all food and retail tasks.
  • Train, onboard, and schedule staff, including EDR and all safety policies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of inspections, inventories, staff evaluations, and other documentation.
  • Conduct regular pre‑shift meetings with all associates for clear communication.
  • Attend and participate in Safety & Environmental meetings and National Park Service inspections.
  • Assist in pre/post‑season setup and teardown of unit operations under guidance of the Operations Manager and Retail Operations Manager.
  • Manage payroll and site‑specific budget.
  • Assist with employee housing in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager.
  • Maintain operation records such as schedules, payroll, deposits, and daily cash reports.
  • Ensure cash handling meets cash‑control standards, including safe accountability.
  • Ensure health and sanitation guidelines are followed and standards are consistently met in F & B units.
  • Maintain stock levels, merchandising programs, and product availability.
  • Keep the operation clean, sanitized, and well‑organized.
  • Interact professionally with Guest Services staff, National Park Service representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform related duties as directed or required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required; four‑year college degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of food service and/or retail management experience.
  • National Park Service gift shop and/or food service experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, including computerized cash registers and credit‑card terminals.
  • Completion of Serv Safe Manager and MAST/TIPS certifications.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Physical & Mental Requirements

Work includes frequent walking, bending, lifting, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 lbs. regularly, 15–20 lbs. frequently, and up to 30 lbs. occasionally. Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and maintain clear verbal communication in English.

Equipment & PPE

Retail POS system, cash register, credit‑card terminal, as well as typical office equipment (computer, phone system, fax, copier, scanner). PPE includes goggles, goggles, cut gloves, mitts.

Seasonality & Work Hours

Our primary season runs from April to October, with most employment opportunities available during summer months. The position operates year‑round, with hours and specific duties outlined by the Operations Manager.
