Overview

QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting for a Subject Matter Expert Engineer to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to support our C5

ISR Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division
contract.

Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical and coordination support for cost, schedule, and performance management.
  • Assist with the establishment of objectives and requirements.
  • Support project and technical status reviews with government leads, laboratories, and engineering teams to enhance cross-organizational coordination and prioritization
  • Facilitate technical readiness transitions by coordinating with appropriate internal and external teams/offices.
  • Partner with analysts to evaluate fund obligations and disbursements, ensuring accountability and alignment with project goals.
  • Provide technical and analytical support to engineers and stakeholders by integrating technical inputs and feedback to inform technology maturation and planning.
  • Support development and execution of evaluation strategies and test plans for RTI PNT technologies in lab and operational environments.
  • Analyze and document test results, lessons learned, and performance metrics to support risk reduction, technical decision-making, and system improvement efforts.
  • Review/oversee the preparation of all related documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver technical, financial, and programmatic status reports, briefings, and decision-support artifacts for government leadership to support RDT&E execution and stakeholder communication.
  • Monitor outside resources.
  • Coordinate, review and supervise work of assigned staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Detail-oriented with technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience supporting test planning, evaluation activities, or analysis of technical performance data.
  • Familiarity with Army C5

    ISR systems, technologies, or mission areas (e.g., networks, sensors, EW, mission command), preferred.
  • Understanding of DoD acquisition processes and technology transition pathways (e.g., RDT&E to Programs of Record), preferred.
Required Clearance
  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL

    REQUIRED:

    Secret
Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience or military experience E6 and up required.
Travel

Less than 10 % travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment

This position may be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, commercial and/or government offices, test and integration labs, government facilities and depots, and test & evaluation and proving grounds.

Physical Demands
  • Be independently mobile.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
  • Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer use.
  • Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as glasses/goggles (eyes), ear plugs/muffs (hearing), hard hats, and breathing respirators/masks.

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work

This is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.
