Manufacturing Instructor

Duties

* Instruct students in machining, welding, and mechanical/automotive skills.

* Deliver orientation-level through advanced technical training.

* Model, teach, and enforce strict shop and lab safety practices.

* Maintain a safe, organized, industry-standard learning environment.

* Train students in OSHA-aligned procedures and proper tool/equipment use.

* Assess student skills through hands-on, performance-based evaluations.

* Align instruction with Illinois CTE and workforce standards.

* Performs other duties as may be assigned by administration.

Qualifications

* High School diploma or equivalent required.

* Substantial industry experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or automotive fields.

* Strong knowledge of shop safety, tools, and equipment.

* Ability to work effectively with high school students.

* Experience across manufacturing, mechanical, and automotive fields.

* CNC, blueprint reading, and precision management skills.

* Willingness and eligibility to obtain an Illinois Provisional Educator License.

* Teacher certification my be obtained after hire through provisional pathway.

* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

* Must be able to carry up to 35 lbs.

* Requires employee to have the ability to push/pull up to 26 lbs.

Additional Notes

Hours may vary based on school district needs. Shifts will be assigned by administration and/or supervisor. Overtime is required when requested.
