Job Summary: The DeKalb ROE operates several early childhood programs within a system of support for children and families:
Prevention Initiative (center-based and home visiting) and Preschool For All. The program delivery occurs in partnership with licensed childcare providers in homes and centers.
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or related field
Gateways Illinois Director Credential II or higher preferred
Professional Educator License in Early Childhood preferred
Experience in Early Childhood education leadership
Pass a Criminal History background check
Up to date with safety training certifications
Responsibilities:Coordinate daily operations of Prevention Initiative Center-based and Preschool for All classrooms
Regularly communicate with licensed child care partners
Support staff to maintain a safe and nurturing environment
Ensure compliance with DCFS licensing standards, FCCERS, ITERS, and ECERS where appropriate
Oversee health and safety regulations
Lead the team of teachers in the delivery of high-quality education
Oversee curriculum development and delivery that meets state standards and is developmentally appropriate
Train, observe, and coach the teaching staff
Maintain robust communication and build strong relationships with families
Complete enrollment for new students, including family interviews and screenings
Contribute to budget management
Serve as a cooperating supervisor for student teachers
Oversee outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and scheduling
Engage in relevant professional learning
Coordinate family engagement events and opportunities regularly
Assist the Regional Office of Education in outreach events and other projects

Deep knowledge of early childhood education practices and state regulations
Able to prioritize tasks and manage time
Works with stakeholders from a strengths-based perspective
Reports to the Coordinator for Early Learning Programs

Schedule:
12-month extended year position
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience
