The Crisis Care Therapist works to alleviate or stabilize mental health symptoms of selected clients, impairing their ability to adjust to home, community integration, or maintain living stability. They provide therapeutic services to individuals, families, or groups regarding psychological or emotional problems, utilizing human service principles in developing relationships and completing assessments.
Work Schedule
- Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Sign-on bonuses include:
- $4,000 for Master Level and licensed eligible therapists
- $6,000 for licensed therapists
The Mobile Crisis Therapist aims to alleviate or stabilize mental and behavioral health symptoms, providing linkages to resources to help clients manage crises, which include both adults and children.
Qualifications
- MA/MS in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field; license eligibility required
- 1 year of related experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with auto insurance coverage as required by OHU
Job
Duties Include:
- Providing crisis intervention response, assessment, and follow-up services
- Conducting Crisis/Safety Assessments with an ETA of 90 minutes for in-person response
- Offering in-home crisis intervention services across wide geographical areas
- Guiding and providing feedback during family contacts and crisis events
- Handling intake processes as assigned
- Providing transportation within program guidelines
- Integrating all services for the client and serving as a communication hub during crises
- Providing crisis response mental health interventions according to funding sources
- Organizing team efforts during shifts
- Completing assessments, decision-making, and evaluations related to mental health interventions
- Training and educating caretakers
- Mentoring new staff and taking a clinical lead in training
- Administering psychological tests to evaluate client needs
- Maintaining ethical standards and demonstrating strength-oriented practice
- Performing comprehensive diagnostic assessments
Required Skills Include:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and adaptability with software applications
- Ability to handle stress and de-escalate crises effectively
- Ability to write routine reports and maintain confidentiality
- Analytical thinking and decision-making skills
