Job Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing-therapy is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for a 13‑week assignment in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients in a hospital or rehabilitation setting while working 40 hours per week on 8‑hour days.
Responsibilities- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs.
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain.
- Operate specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and accurately document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention strategies, and self‑management techniques.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices.
- Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continued patient progress in community or home‑based settings.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Doctorate degree in physical therapy.
- Experience in physical therapy; new graduates are welcome.
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.
