Overview
Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform scrub functions, including selection and handling of instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Perform circulating functions, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition; manage overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
- Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in nursing practice, ensuring care meets patient age- and condition-specific needs as described in the department's Scope of Service.
- Apply professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model and use the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to evolving health and nursing needs.
- Maintain constant alertness and safe practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school or equivalent education for licensing.
- Experience: No experience required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to communicate, stand/walk, lift 0-25 lbs frequently, use vision/hearing, lift 25-50 lbs occasionally, move patients occasionally, bend/kneel/squat as needed, drive occasionally, and, rarely, crawl/run.
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS HCP – American Heart Association (AHA); RN – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).

Hourly ($31.21 - $49.94) - Schedule:
Mon‑Fri; weekend rotation as needed for call.
