BJC Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiology Med Surg for a nursing position located in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards of care.
• Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on management of illness or injury, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patients, families, or caregivers.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.

• Education:
  
  Nursing Diploma/Associate’s – no experience required.
• Licensure: RN
• Other:
  Position is safety‑sensitive; requires constant alertness and safe work practices.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing–
