Full‑time days with call requirements (40‑minute arrival). Sign‑on bonus:
Up to $15,000 for externals. BSN differential, CNOR certification, competitive pay, and benefits eligibility.

Overview

Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute‑care hospital providing medical, surgical, critical, emergency, and pediatric services, including cardiology, oncology, and stroke care. Memorial Shiloh is a 94‑bed, all‑private‑suite hospital recognized for Magnet status and offering emergency, labor‑delivery, nursery, and critical‑care services. The perioperative department supports both adult and pediatric surgical patients, ensuring safe and effective care throughout the perioperative continuum.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s) as a collaborative team member.
  • Pre‑operatively perform a focused nursing assessment for the planned procedure.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Identify and communicate desired patient outcomes throughout the perioperative continuum.
  • Function as a member of the surgical team and contribute to overall efficiency of the peri‑operative department.
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, efficiency, environment, and cost in planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care.
  • Monitor patient response and modify the plan of care accordingly.
  • Administer medications according to standard nursing practice.
  • Develop and manage an individual plan of care that directs the intervention(s) of the RNFA.
  • Implement, manage, and coordinate the perioperative plan of care related to RNFA interventions.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward attaining outcomes.
  • Systematically evaluate the quality of nursing practice.
  • Participate in professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Seek out and participate in learning opportunities.
  • Evaluate practice in context with current professional practice standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to professional growth of peers, colleagues, and others.
  • Integrate knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, including education.
  • Incorporate research findings into practice.
  • Practice in an ethical manner using available resources to formulate ethical decisions.
  • Advocate for individuals and groups related to perioperative health safety.
  • Provide leadership in the profession and professional practice setting.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Nursing diploma or associate’s degree with 2‑5 years of nursing experience.
  • Supervisor experience:
    None.
  • Licenses & certifications:
    Active RN licensure.
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s degree in nursing;
    Certified First Assistant, CNOR, or equivalent RN First Assistant certification.
