Position Overview
We are seeking a Critical Care Advanced Practitioner (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to practice at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, in a brand-new, state-of-the‑art facility.
Responsibilities- Assisting in providing high‑quality care to critical care patients, including patient admissions and consults, and seeing post‑op surgical patients.
- On average two patient admissions per night.
- Performing central and arterial lines and intubation, with willingness to train the right candidate.
- On‑job training paired with a collaborating physician for support.
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
- NPs must hold Acute Care certification.
- Clinical or rotational experience in critical care.
- Ability to obtain PA/NP licensure in Illinois.
- Team player and collaborative.
Nocturnist position working 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. on a 7 on / 7 off schedule (Tuesday to Tuesday) providing coverage in a 16‑bed CCU.
CompensationCompensation is based on relevant experience, specialty, labor market, and other qualifications. The posted pay range reflects what SSM Health reasonably expects to offer. This position may also be eligible for incentive pay. SSM Health may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
