Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• May round with physician in an inpatient setting.
• Applies evidence‑based practice to deliver nursing care based on patient’s age‑specific and clinical needs.
• Demonstrates professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model.
• Uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to evolving patient needs.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or educational equivalency for licensing.
• Experience:
  
  No experience required.
• Licenses &
  
  Certifications:
  
  Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation;
  Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association.

Constant use of speech, standing, walking, frequent lifting/carrying of 0‑25 lb items, occasional lifting of 25‑50 lb items, occasional patient handling, occasional driving, and frequent use of vision, hearing, and depth perception. Includes reaching, keyboard use, and repetitive movements.
