IL-SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital - Mount Vernon
Job OverviewRegistered Nurse (RN) – Pat Rms 4200 MS/PED, Full time, Night shift 7:pm–7:30am, varying days with every 3rd weekend, holiday requirement, no on‑call requirement.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
- Use medical‑surgical nursing standards to promote quality of care and quality of life for patients, families, and significant others.
- Establish effective relationships and advocate for patients and families while facilitating the development of individualized care plans.
- Employ the nursing process to develop and implement care plans, collect assessment data, determine nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Develop assessment and management strategies considering all dimensions of human responses to health problems.
- Coordinate and collaborate with patients, families, communities, and inter‑professional team members to assess needs, set goals, plan interventions, provide care, and evaluate outcomes.
- Participate in collaborative decision‑making with patients, families, and other health care providers, ensuring culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic, informed, compassionate, and humane care within economic resources.
- Educate patients, families, and significant others about measures that promote, maintain, and restore health or comfort.
- Act as a mentor and role model for nursing colleagues, students, and others, fostering a healthy work environment.
- Apply evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to deliver patient‑centered care appropriate to age‑specific and clinical needs.
- Perform point‑of‑care testing in accordance with policies and procedures, if required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing.
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Basic Life Support Health‑Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA).
- • Registered Nurse (RN) – Missouri Division of Professional Registration or RN issued by Compact State.
- • Registered Nurse (RN) – Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) or RN issued by Compact State.
- • Registered Nurse (RN) – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
- No prior experience required – the position offers on‑the‑job training.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use/data entry.
- Hourly pay – pay range is based on circumstances at the time of posting; final compensation may vary.
- Sign‑on bonus available for eligible external candidates.
