Marion Eye Surgery Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (PRN) to join our outpatient surgery team part-time. The Pre-Op/Recovery RN is responsible for providing exceptional patient care before and after surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the surgical experience.

• Prepare patients for surgery by completing assessments, reviewing medical history, verifying medications, and starting IVs.
• Monitor and care for patients in the recovery area following surgery.
• Assess patient condition, vital signs, pain level, and readiness for discharge.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Educate patients and family members regarding pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Previous experience in pre-op, PACU, surgery, ICU, or emergency nursing preferred.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient surgery setting.
