Pay Range

USD 31.21 – 49.94 per hour. Compensation is based on experience, labor market, and other qualifications. The posted range reflects what SSM Health reasonably expects to offer.

Job Summary

Licensed new graduate nurse from an accredited nursing program who actively participates in the SSM Health New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Provides professional nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, delegation, and monitoring of tasks assigned to other members of the care team in accordance with professional nursing standards. Responsible for the delivery of age‑appropriate care for assigned patients with a wide variety of medical conditions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs specialized tasks based on demonstrated competence to provide nursing care for patient populations served.
  • Performs patient assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age‑appropriate needs; assesses nutrition, pain management, and signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect to develop, evaluate, and modify patients’ plans of care.
  • Develops realistic, comprehensive patient/family educational plans using appropriate resources and methods of instruction and provides patient/family health education and coaching.
  • Completes accurate and timely documentation, including processing of physician orders, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and evaluates delivery of nursing care given by team members based on patient needs and professional judgment.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • Completes competency requirements and applies evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Experience

No experience required.

Physical Requirements

Constant use of speech to communicate orally, standing, walking, frequent lifting of objects 0–25 lbs, frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use, frequent use of vision and hearing, occasional lifting of objects 25–50 lbs, occasional patient moving, occasional bending and repetitive movements, occasional driving. Rare crawling and running.

Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Illinois – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association and Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
  • Missouri – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association and Registered Nurse (RN) – Missouri Division of Professional Registration or RN issued by compact state
  • Oklahoma – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association and Registered Nurse (RN) – Oklahoma Board of Nursing or RN issued by compact state
  • Wisconsin – Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association and Registered Nurse (RN) – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services or RN issued by compact state
