American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a STEMI and stroke certified facility requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
Details- Emergency Department setting treating combined adult/pediatric patients
- 1:4 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- 6 scheduled weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule
- Epic charting system used
- STEMI and stroke certified facility
- Trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and head injuries
- Active IL RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- CPI certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and IV medication administration
- Experience managing dysrhythmias and interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Experience with CPAP/BiPAP management
- Experience with neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, and CVA care
- Triage experience required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma and medical cases including neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, and cardiac emergencies
- Navy scrubs required
- Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions accepted
- Personal CAPRs or PAPRs are not permitted; facility does not provide these devices
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit
- Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted
- Travelers cannot work more than 1 year at this facility and must take a 6 month break before returning
