Job Description

The Health & Safety Analyst will:

The Safety & Health Analyst is a key contributor to the site ESH team, responsible for OSHA compliance, safety program ownership, and continuous improvement at a large-scale tire manufacturing facility with approximately 3,900 employees. This role serves as a technical expert in OSHA standards and leads the management of critical safety programs in a high-hazard, 24/7 manufacturing environment. The Safety & Health Analyst partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Leadership to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and strengthen a proactive safety culture.

This position requires strong presence on the production floor, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to support 24/7 operations through an on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the site subject matter expert for OSHA General Industry (29 CFR 1910) regulations applicable to tire manufacturing operations. Conduct routine and targeted safety inspections, compliance audits, and risk assessments across production, maintenance, utilities, and support areas. Drive site-wide safety strategy for regulatory readiness and sustained OSHA compliance. Support and coordinate OSHA inspections, complaints, and inquiries, including documentation preparation, abatement tracking, and corrective action follow up.

Own and continuously improve critical safety programs, including:
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) – energy control procedures, audits, and authorized employee programs Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) – training, evaluations, and compliance oversight Electrical Safety / NFPA 70E – hazard assessments, PPE requirements, and safe work practices Machine Safety & Guarding – safeguarding assessments, risk reduction, and validation Working at Heights / Fall Protection – hazard assessments, equipment inspections, and controls Lead or support incident, injury, and near miss investigations, utilizing root cause analysis methods and driving effective corrective and preventive actions.

Lead and mentor supervisors and safety committee members on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and accountability for program execution. Develop and deliver OSHA required and site specific safety training; maintain training records, matrices, and compliance tracking. Analyze safety data and trends; prepare reports and recommendations for site leadership to support continuous improvement. Support emergency response and operational needs through participation in a rotational on call schedule, providing expert guidance during incidents and urgent safety events.

Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 years of safety experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
