Technology Teacher
A Technology Teacher responsible for teaching Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses provides engaging, hands-on instruction that develops students' skills in engineering, computer science, design, and technology. The teacher fosters innovation, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world application of STEM concepts.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver PLTW curriculum aligned with program requirements and learning standards.
- Design and facilitate project-based learning experiences that promote student engagement and inquiry.
- Teach concepts related to engineering design, computer science, automation, robotics, and emerging technologies, as applicable.
- Integrate technology tools, software, and equipment into daily instruction.
- Assess student learning through projects, presentations, performance tasks, and other formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive laboratory/classroom environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, administrators, and industry partners to support student success.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, communication, and career readiness skills.
- Participate in PLTW professional development and maintain program certification requirements.
- Valid teaching certification in Technology Education, STEM, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of PLTW curriculum and project-based learning methodologies.
- Experience using engineering design processes, coding platforms, robotics systems, and other technology-related tools.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and preparing students for college and career pathways in STEM fields.
- Passion for STEM education and innovation.
- Ability to inspire students to explore technology and engineering careers.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn and integrate emerging technologies into instruction.
