At Appfire, we believe that great work happens when people get to choose how they work. After 20 years of creating software that empowers teams to break silos and collaborate seamlessly, we've learned that one size does not fit all. We’re a team of 800+ employees, working remotely across 28 countries. Our flagship products include:
Appfire Flow, JXL, Comala Document Management, 7
Pace Time Tracker, Jira Misc Workflow Extensions, and Big Picture.
AI agents are showing up inside enterprise Jira environments faster than most platform admins can track. Teams can't always see what an agent is touching, can't carry its setup through a deployment the way they can other configurations, and can't easily answer questions about what an agent is doing or costing. We're building the product that gives enterprise platform teams one place to discover, govern, audit, and understand the cost of every AI agent running in their environment.
You'll own this end to end: strengthening the platform capabilities that make this trustworthy at enterprise scale, extending our governance model to treat AI agents as configuration in their own right, and building the policy layer that decides what any agent is allowed to do before it acts.
What you’ll ownPlatform foundation. Strengthen core capabilities our enterprise customers depend on: reliable movement of configuration across environments, programmatic access for teams running CI/CD-style operations, and better visibility into unwanted configuration change over time.
Agent governance. Extend our governance model to treat AI agents as configuration that deserves the same rigor as workflows or permissions: capturing agent setup as part of a deployment, comparing and rolling back agent changes independently of everything else, and closing the gap where agent configuration gets left behind during a promotion.
A control plane for AI activity. Build the visibility and control layer enterprises are missing today: discovery of what agents are running and where, a searchable inventory, a policy engine that enforces rules like approval requirements before an agent acts, an audit trail down to the individual action, and cost and usage attribution by agent, owner, or project.
The policy engine. This becomes the enforcement layer other Appfire products rely on when they ship AI capability. You'll own the rules of what an agent can do and how those rules get enforced at runtime, working closely with the team building Appfire's packaged AI skill content so their governance needs are covered by one system instead of two.
Partner relationships. Build a direct relationship with Atlassian's partner program to get early visibility into their AI platform roadmap and API access, and own our plan for the gaps that access doesn't cover.
Customer discovery. Talk regularly with enterprise Jira platform admins and IT leaders to validate and prioritize which governance capabilities matter most.

- Several years of experience as a product manager owning complex, technical, enterprise infrastructure or governance products, ideally something like IT asset management, identity governance, or configuration management
- Experience managing a product that spans many different product domains and teams
- Comfort selling into and gathering requirements from senior technical buyers: platform admins, CISOs, CIOs
- A track record of shipping in phases against a long-term roadmap without losing the through line to the end state
- Direct, structured customer discovery skills. You'll be interviewing enterprise admins regularly
- Experience in the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence, JSM, Forge) or a comparable platform ecosystem
