At Christmas In America, our Seasonal Retail Store Associate plays a critical role in ensuring our customers receive the right products accurately and on time. While our retail store is open to the public for a limited time during the holiday season, the primary focus of this position is order fulfillment, inventory management and product handling.

This role requires individuals who are detail-oriented, comfortable working at heights on ladders, and able to accurately locate products using SKUs and inventory systems. Associates spend the majority of their time picking, packing, stocking, replenishing inventory, and preparing customer orders for pickup or shipment. This position is based at our Mount Vernon location and reports directly to the Store Manager.

• Accurately pick merchandise by matching SKUs, product descriptions, and quantities using our inventory management system.
• Retrieve products from warehouse shelving and stock locations, including upper storage areas using ladders and step stools.
• Verify all items before packing to ensure order accuracy.
• Pack customer and online orders securely to prevent damage during transport.
• Prepare orders for shipment and pickup while meeting daily productivity and accuracy goals.
• Maintain organized staging areas for completed and pending orders.
• Receive, organize, stock, and replenish merchandise throughout the warehouse and sales floor.
• Perform inventory counts and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Maintain accurate inventory by reporting discrepancies, damaged merchandise, and missing products.
• Execute product transfers, price changes, and inventory adjustments as directed.
• Organize stockrooms and warehouse storage areas for maximum efficiency and accessibility.
• Safely operate ladders and step stools to access merchandise stored on high shelving.
• Frequently climb ladders while carrying lightweight merchandise and maintaining safe work practices.
• Follow all safety procedures when lifting, climbing, stocking, and handling merchandise.

During the limited retail selling period, associates will also:

• Assist customers by answering questions and locating merchandise.
• Maintain attractive, organized product displays.
• Restock merchandise on the sales floor.
• Apply a "Heads up" approach – be aware of customers that require assistance and offer help.
• Ring on the register, report and handle all required transactions, issue receipts, and place merchandise in appropriate bag following the register best practices routine.
• Help create a welcoming holiday shopping experience.

• Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items (store displays, merchandise, ornaments, garland, wreaths, figurines, etc.) for a short distance.
• Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Ability to work a 6-day work week
• Minimum 2 years customer service experience or 2 years experience in a similar role
• Strong customer service skills including effective communication
• Ability to stand on your feet in excess of 10 hours
• Ability to lift 25lbs regularly unassisted
• Computer literacy
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload
• Previous experience with Shopify platform and basic knowledge of shipping/handling procedures preferred.
• Previous experience in store merchandising and display strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of holiday décor trends and a flair for Christmas is a plus
