Position Summary
The Grant Development Coordinator is responsible for identifying, developing, coordinating, and administering grant funding opportunities that advance Knox Public Health's mission. This position manages the grant life cycle from funding research and proposal development through compliance, financial oversight, reporting, and closeout while collaborating with agency leadership, departments, and external funding partners to ensure successful grant implementation and regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions- Develop, coordinate, and manage grant policies, procedures, and grant management processes
- Research funding opportunities and disseminate relevant information to leadership and relevant departments
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial documents, grant agreements, and contracts with funders and partners
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and funding agency requirements related to grants, budgeting, reporting, and procurement
- Collaborate with internal departments, fiscal staff, directors, and external partners to ensure grant requirements and project objectives are met
- Perform special projects, departmental support activities, occasional special event support, and other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree required, degree or training in English, communications, writing, or a related field preferred
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent customer service, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Basic math, bookkeeping, and accounting knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data entry and time management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality best practices
