Night Shift – $23.00 / hour
12‑hour shifts: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm – 6:00 am with a 2‑2‑3 day rotation (times approximate).
Probation90‑day probationary period; upon successful completion and certification as a POP II, receive an additional $1 / hour.
Purpose of the JobThe Packaging Operator I role is an entry level production position at the Mt. Vernon facility that assists with the manufacturing process for insulation. Responsibilities include packaging, cleaning, and providing break relief for team members. Employees will cross‑train in three key areas—packaging, shipping/receiving, and quality—and will qualify for POP II once certified in all three.
Job Responsibilities- Spot outbound trucks into material load docks and ensure dock locks.
- Reclaim off‑quality unbonded loosefill and re‑feed the material to the former.
- Operating bagger equipment to place bags on snouts, ensuring proper packaging of finished goods.
- Perform general cleanup duties in designated areas—including sweeping floors, blowing down lines/robots, and cleaning break rooms.
- Assist with preventive maintenance processes.
- Perform special duties as determined by plant staff.
- Participate in safety and housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
- Receive training on how to properly test quality checks according to specifications and shipping/receiving procedures.
- Provide coverage for team members and attend required meetings outside of normal scheduled days as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proof of authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must successfully pass a Work Keys assessment.
- 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Understand verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Strong internal and external customer service skills.
- Effective team work and independent work capabilities.
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
