POSITION SUMMARY
A Driver—CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver must ensure their vehicle complies with the Company’s safety standards, adhere to all Company, state, and federal regulations, and complete vehicle condition reports ("VCRs") daily to address any vehicle defects promptly.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
- Report any safety issues on standard reports.
- Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route, following route sheets, maps, and service each customer as identified or assigned by dispatcher/supervisor.
- Use manual and/or automatic controls to lift, load refuse, operate compactor, and dispose of material at the designated facility.
- Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely and professional service.
- Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them per departmental procedures.
- Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable material and clean spills following safety standards.
- Maintain vehicle readiness by cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed on disposal trips.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports.
- Maintain required productivity standards to serve all customers efficiently.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures, including participation in the Company’s ReSOP program.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
- Good customer service skills, professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation.
- Good time-management skills to complete responsibilities efficiently and safely.
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and promote safety standards.
- Ability to follow work schedule, address challenges, and maintain pride in work.
Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
