Restaurant Operations Manager
Located at the entrance of the historic estate and gardens of George Washington, The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant is looking for a Restaurant Operations Manager to oversee the daily lunch and dinner service. This key role will shape our visitors' experience by maintaining the restaurant's appearance, hiring and training quality staff, and ensuring the best possible customer service. In addition to a busy lunch and dinner service, we have a robust catering and special events component.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong leadership skills, hospitality expertise, and operational acumen to drive the restaurant's success and deliver an outstanding dining experience.
Starting at $60,000.
Expected Hours40 hours/week. This position requires availability for morning and/or evening shifts, weekends and holidays.
Position Specific Responsibilities- Oversee and facilitate all aspects of daytime and nighttime restaurant operation/floor management to include:
Hiring, training and all management duties for staff personnel - Guest/Client relations including ensuring guest satisfaction, product quality, and cost control standards
- Provide cash and supplies security, accountability, and disbursement to staff
- Provide sales and service to tour groups and private parties including corporate and social events
- Apply sanitation/cleanliness standards for positive restaurant appearance
- Ensure established organization policies and procedures are followed
- Minimum 2 years restaurant management experience required
- Strong organization and leadership skills
- Serv Safe Certified is a plus
- Must be:
Team oriented, very organized, detail oriented and flexible - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Ability to climb stairs and stand and/or walk for hours at a time
- Must work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Able to lift at least 20 pounds
