Nice to Have Skills & Experience Active Secret Clearance Lenel Certification OSHA 30 Certification First Aid Certification Experience supporting federal or DoD security projects Knowledge of DoD RMF, ICD 705, UL 2050, NIST 800-171, and FIPS 201 compliance requirements Experience with SSP and ATO documentation
Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking an ESS Technician for a federal security solutions client in the Washington, DC area. This individual will support service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance efforts for electronic security systems across federal project sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
This role offers the opportunity to support mission-critical security infrastructure, ensure compliance with evolving government security requirements, and contribute to high-visibility federal projects while working toward a long-term permanent opportunity.
Day-to-Day:
Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on electronic security systems Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, wiring, and system malfunctions Conduct security system audits and upgrade installations to maintain compliance Service and support IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems at federal project sites Train end users, government personnel, and security teams on system functionality Ensure all installations meet applicable security and compliance standards Assist with System Security Plans (SSP) and Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation Maintain detailed service records, testing reports, and project documentation Travel to customer sites throughout the Washington, DC area as needed
