The Opportunity:

In our contemporary world, an HVAC supervisor performs arguably the most essential functions of trades work; ensuring all building spaces are properly and adequately conditioned. This position performs critical diagnostics, repair, and maintenance, and is also involved in forward-thinking capital project planning. The skillsets required for this position are a complex blend of educational and vocational training combined with soft skills such as cross-departmental planning and communication.

This position also serves as the primary lead and trainer of lower-level maintenance mechanics, ensuring the desired knowledge, skills, and traits are taught to employees. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position working 40 hours per week, onsite at the Mount Vernon campus.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance Supervision

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the work of maintenance mechanics engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, heating, water, cooling, refrigeration, sewer, and fire suppression systems, steam distribution systems, commercial air-conditioning (environmental) equipment, air handling units, and pneumatic/electronic/electrical or mechanical control systems;
  • Performs, trains, guides, and directs skilled HVAC work on such plant equipment as boilers, chillers, pumps, and controls.

Capital Planning and Projects

  • Review specifications, blueprints, and submittals for capital planning and projects;
