Requisition SummaryThe Hardware-in-the-Loop Technician provides technical support and assistance to HIL engineers and test engineers in the design, development, and execution of test equipment and benches used to verify embedded vehicle controllers. This role is responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of HIL test systems, hardware components, and simulation equipment. The technician works collaboratively with engineering teams to ensure test benches are operational, properly configured, and ready for test execution.
JobFunctions / Responsibilities
- Assembles, configures, and integrates hardware components for HIL test benches and simulation systems
- Performs routine maintenance and calibration of test equipment and HIL hardware systems
- Troubleshoots hardware and software issues on test benches to minimize downtime
- Supports test engineers during test execution by monitoring equipment performance and logging data
- Assists in the setup and configuration of dSpace Scalexio hardware and related test systems
- Documents hardware configurations, test setups, and troubleshooting procedures
- Coordinates with vendors and suppliers regarding equipment repairs and replacements
- Assists in the build and installation of new test benches and equipment
- Performs cable management, wiring, and integration of vehicle networks (CAN, J1939, LIN)
- Maintains inventory of test equipment, cables, connectors, and replacement parts
- Supports the preparation of test systems for verification and validation activities
- Communicates technical issues and status updates to engineering and management
- 7+ years of related assembly technician and quality control experience in test equipment operation, maintenance, or assembly in automotive, aerospace, or heavy truck manufacturing environments
- 2+ years of industry experience building and maintaining test equipment, harness assembly for automotive/heavy truck test benches preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose hardware and integration issues
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Familiarity with dSpace Scalexio hardware and test bench systems preferred
- Knowledge of automotive and commercial vehicle networks (CAN, SAE J1939, LIN) preferred
- Experience with hardware integration and electronic component assembly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and respond to changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn new technologies
High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's degree preferred.

The salary range for "Hardware in the Loop Integration Technician" is $80,800 - $120,800 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above.
