Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Night Shift (19:15 – 06:45) | 3x12-Hour shifts

Job Summary

A Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA is seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor and Delivery RN to join the Family Birth Center. This role involves providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns in a supportive, patient-centered environment. As part of the Skagit Regional Health team, you will manage labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery, ensuring safety and clinical excellence throughout the birthing process.

Responsibilities
  • Labor Support: Provide continuous physical and emotional support to laboring patients, monitoring progress and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Fetal Monitoring: Utilize Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) to assess fetal well-being and identify potential complications.
  • Delivery Assistance: Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal deliveries and circulate for Cesarean sections when required.
  • Neonatal Care: Provide immediate stabilization and care for newborns, including neonatal resuscitation if necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using the EPIC EMR system.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of dedicated Labor and Delivery experience.
  • Licensure: Washington State RN License. (Pending licenses are accepted for submission, but must be in-hand prior to start).
  • Certifications: * BLS (AHA)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • Traveler Status: First-time travelers and travel pairs are welcome to apply.
Assignment Details & Expectations
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
  • Floating: Required as needed within the RN's clinical scope.
  • Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed, but the facility is willing to discuss this during the interview.
  • Modules: Completion of facility-specific modules is required; the first 16 hours of orientation/module time are non-billable.
  • Vaccination: Flu vaccine is required (Medical/Religious exemptions allowed). COVID-19 vaccine is not required.
  • Local Candidates: Locals are accepted for this position with no specific radius restriction.
