Systems Administrator (IAT/IAM Level III Certified) (Washington, DC)
Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance, securing operating systems, and executing patch management across Windows and Linux environments. This is a hands‑on technical position requiring expertise in system engineering, cybersecurity controls, and IT infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities- Engineer and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Install, configure, and optimize operating systems, third‑party applications, and security patches.
- Troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and databases in a complex multi‑layered network.
- Implement cybersecurity controls, resource monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.
- Work with SAN, enterprise backup solutions, and fault‑tolerant technologies.
- Utilize Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager to automate patching and system updates.
- Develop scripts using Power Shell, Perl, VBScript, or similar administrative languages.
- Collaborate with customers and technical teams to define remediation strategies and security enhancements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field OR 4-7 years of experience in information technology.
- IAT or IAM Level III Certification (CASP, CCNP, CISA, CISM, CISSP) required.
- Strong experience with multi‑platform engineering and patch management operations.
- Expertise in Windows & Linux system administration, virtualization, and middleware.
- Understanding of networking concepts, routing fundamentals, and distributed computing environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity control implementation and IT infrastructure management.
- Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions and SAN technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and technical teams.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active Top‑Secret Clearance required.
