Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Cabin keeper for the Postcard Cabins in Mount Vernon, WA.

Job Purpose

Cleans and prepares Cabins and public areas by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us.

  • Thoroughly cleans assigned cabins (and cabin patios), including wiping and cleaning windows, doors, walls, floors, bathrooms, appliances, and fixtures, cabins and public areas, use of stools to clean hard to reach areas when needed, in order to maintain a clean, presentable and attractive facility at all times.
  • Washes shower walls, cleans toilet(s) and stall walls if applicable, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sink(s) and walls in order to have clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms.
  • Replaces linen, toiletries, and collateral in each cabin. Washes all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas. Vacuums all carpeted areas.
  • Inspects all room equipment ( lights/lamps, faucets, radios) to ensure proper working order and immediately reports all room status and room maintenance deficiencies, in writing, to the direct supervisor for prompt repair/resolution.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications and Requirements

High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent.

Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or other cleaning standards.

Must be available to work Sundays and holidays.

This job requires the ability to perform the following
  • Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
  • Must have vision ability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas, and to read written instructions and computer print-outs.
  • Must have upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs. continually throughout a 5-hour shift.
  • Must be able to work with arms raised above the head throughout a 5-hour shift.
  • Must be able to carry a cleaning bag, weighing up to 20 lbs, from your car to the cabin and back multiple times during the entire work day.
  • Material/Equipment Used
  • Basic residential cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers and carpet cleaning equipment. Cleaning cart. Ladder/stepping stool. Commercial washers, dryers and pressers.
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals on a continual basis.
  • Prolonged strenuous physical activity in cabins (climate-controlled). must be able to work in all weather conditions.

  • Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.

  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
