Position
Process Operator – Mount Vernon, WA
Schedule:
3:00 am–11:00 am M–F
Reports to:
Plant Manager
- Achieve training to gain knowledge for operating Sulfur Prilling and Emulsified Sulfur Plants
- Monitor, mix and control product/process
- Operate cooling towers, heat exchangers, pumps, mixers, conveyors, bucket elevators
- Monitor steam pressure, temperature, and boiler operation
- Achieve training in general plant maintenance
- Assist operation of Sulfur Prilling Plant 50%
- Assist operation of Emulsified Sulfur Plant 5%
- General Plant Maintenance 10%
- Operate Forklift 10%
- Operate Wheel Loaders 10%
- Oversee and assist loading Emulsified Sulfur 15%
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- High degree of mechanical aptitude and skills required
- Previous maintenance experience required
- Understanding of units of weights and measures
- Works well under direction and follows established procedures
- Forklift and wheel loader experience preferred
- Experience working in an industrial environment preferred
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
- Employee frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Employee required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical)
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision
- Must be fit for duty
Must be able to work in the following conditions:
- Work in awkward or confining work spaces
- Work in elevated places
- Work in outdoor environment
- Work in noisy environment
- Work in areas that are dusty and have some odor from chemicals
- Safety is a job requirement
- Able to work in adverse weather conditions
All employees are required to complete and pass annual medical assessments, including but not limited to the Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and the ability to wear a respirator as a condition of employment
Compensation$30.90 – $30.90 per hour (non-exempt)
