Special Police Officer Part Time Nights (240002TI)

Part Time Nights (32hrs), Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, 11pm – 7:30am. Responsible for providing protection and security for patients, employees, visitors, hospital grounds and assets as assigned.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Special Police Officer Commission 60 Days, (Required)
• Eligible for Security Officer Upon Hire

• Patrols hospital and surrounding grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and intruders
• Monitors conduct of visitors and questions unauthorized persons when necessary
• Reports to occurrences such as violence, disorderly conduct, theft, etc. Interacts with MPD as required
• Reports safety concerns, fire hazards and protective service violations
• Escorts staff and visitors to parking garage and other hospital areas upon request
• Enforces established hospital/departmental policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, environmental and infection control, safety, etc.
• Proficiently operate CCTV, Card Access and other security systems
• Staff the Command Center and proficiently operate telephone system
• Staff the reception desk and assist visitors in a professional manner
• Attends QBS/Safety-Care Training
• Responds and assists with patients displaying aggressive behavior
• Respond to all internal codes emergency codes

• May serve as the Lead Officer in the absence of the Shift Supervisor
• May perform other duties in addition to those outlined in this job description
