Special Police Officer Part Time Nights (240002TI)
Job OverviewPart Time Nights (32hrs), Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, 11pm – 7:30am. Responsible for providing protection and security for patients, employees, visitors, hospital grounds and assets as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Licenses and Certifications
- Special Police Officer Commission 60 Days, (Required)
- Eligible for Security Officer Upon Hire
- Patrols hospital and surrounding grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and intruders
- Monitors conduct of visitors and questions unauthorized persons when necessary
- Reports to occurrences such as violence, disorderly conduct, theft, etc. Interacts with MPD as required
- Reports safety concerns, fire hazards and protective service violations
- Escorts staff and visitors to parking garage and other hospital areas upon request
- Enforces established hospital/departmental policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, environmental and infection control, safety, etc.
- Proficiently operate CCTV, Card Access and other security systems
- Staff the Command Center and proficiently operate telephone system
- Staff the reception desk and assist visitors in a professional manner
- Attends QBS/Safety-Care Training
- Responds and assists with patients displaying aggressive behavior
- Respond to all internal codes emergency codes
- May serve as the Lead Officer in the absence of the Shift Supervisor
- May perform other duties in addition to those outlined in this job description
- Demonstrates understanding of quality of service and collaborates with co-workers to ensure excellence standard is achieved
